GOLDEN DREAM-Chai is often considered a wellness tea, combining nutrient-rich spices with antioxidant rich tea varieties. It’s both an enjoyable beverage and fantastic way to supplement your diet with additional sources of nutrition.
Chai comes from the Hindi word meaning tea (so saying “Chai tea” is a bit redundant). In Western cuisine, Chai often follows the recipes roots, using a black tea mixed with spices and milk. However, in most coffee shops and tea stores, it’s also common to come across extra sweet Chai varieties, usually in latte-form. At its roots, though, Chai is fragrant and spicy tea, or Masalai chai.
We use Darjeeling Tea in our CBD Chai Tea. Darjeeling Tea is cultivated from Darjeeling or Kalimpong Districts in West Bengal, India. It has an earthy aroma and a full-bodied flavor. Meaning Land of the Thunderbolt, it originally is derived from the Tibetan words Dorge. Darjeeling is a black tea made from younger leaves and buds which contain more caffeine than older and more mature tea leaves. It shares many of the same benefits of black tea. Like Assam, Darjeeling is rich in antioxidants, flavonoids, and other vitamins and minerals.
In addition to Darjeeling, The Brothers’ Chai CBD tea contains a wide variety of herbs and spices, including ginger, cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, nutmeg and vanilla. Each of these spices contains unique nutritional constituents, including antioxidant rich clove and ginger to the calming aroma of vanilla bean. We’re proud to offer a Chai variety that does not included added sugars, sweeteners, or fillers that mask the taste of the traditional spices.
CBD CHAMOMILE TEA:
The benefits of Golden Dream come directly from the flowers, herbs, and other plants we use in formulating. Some of our favorite in this mix include Chamomile, Hawthorne Berry, and Lindenleaf.
Chamomile has been consumed as a natural remedy for centuries. An herbal tea, many people drink chamomile as a caffeine-free alternative to green and black tea. Its popularity dates back to the Egyptians and Ancient Romans who enjoyed the sweet flower’s tea for relaxation. Because of chamomile, this sweet honey toned tea is also loaded with antioxidants like apigenin. This, and the whole class of antioxidants known as ‘flavones’, support a healthy body. Apigenin is found in a variety of unique foods, including celery, parsley, and oregano, and antioxidants in nature are abundant.
This tea also contains Hawthorn Berry, an ingredient with long use in Western herbalism. It’s a member of the rose family, evident in its features as a shrub covered in sharp thorns. These bright berries are harvested when fully ripe in the autumn, right before the first frost. In addition to tea, Hawthorne berry can be used for jams, jellies, wines and even made into candies. The berries also contain a high antioxidant content.
Linden or lindenleaf is a made from the flowers of the Tilla genus, a deciduous tree that enjoys temperate climates found in northern Asia, Europe, and North America. It is gentle and aromatic, and contains a number of vitamins and antioxidants including tiliroside and kaempferol.
Other ingredients in this mix include orange peel, blackberry leaf, rose petals, spearmint, and lemongrass. You can read more about these herbs below!
